Lady Charlotte Halloway, the elected head of the Guild Masters, and I had our meeting this weekend with representatives of a local institution, and after our guided tour of the facility, we couldn’t be more happy to announce that 100% of our Guild Submission fees will be donated to The Henry B. Plant Museum at the University of Tampa!
a jewel casket into which has been gathered an infinite number of gems.
This museum, and the building that surrounds it, are like nothing else in the Tampa Bay area. They have preserved one of the most amazing pieces of Victoriana you can imagine, complete with original art, fixtures and furniture! I’ve never been so immersed in authentic period furnishings since… well, since Victoria sat on the throne!
And we decided on the spot that this would be the only right and proper place to which Aethertopia will donate our local Guild submission proceeds.
When you see the inside of this building, and especially the actual furnished hotel rooms from 1891, it helps bring home the wonder and beauty of the Victorian age. If you get a chance to visit before Aethertopia, please do so. Here is more information on the museum and its hours of operation:
